Dempsy's lasagna always the best ever. Don't even bother ordering the half order. All in or go home. Even if you're full, have the cheesecake.

Small dining area but who cares if you enjoy good food.

My most recent experience was very disappointing food-wise, but no complaints about the service. Regarding the food; overly greasy and salty, and very reserved with ingredients. I ordered a side seafood pasta with my steak, the pasta arrived with a single scallop decorating a bowl of pasta swimming in oil. I hid half my chewed up steak in napkins because it was not chew-able, I did order it rare but that is no excuse. This was not at all how I remembered this restaurant. Maybe it was an off-night but we won't be going back. There are too many other good restaurants to risk yet another "off-night".

The owner was kind enough to not only respond to my negative review but offered to reimburse my dinner. I have not taken him up on the offer (yet), but of course that redeems my overall experience. As a result I have edited my star rating to reflect my satisfaction.

Great food for a decent price, but not a lot of elbow room.

If there's one thing for certain in Victoria it's that there's always going to be a lineup for breakfast anywhere on a weekend, and all the time at Pagliacci's for dinner.

The food here is excellent and in good portions for the price: though it's a bit costlier than your average neighborhood pub, it's worth it. Be warned that they really pack you into this place: the tables are quite close together and given the fact that it's always full, don't expect to be able to hear a whole lot sometimes if it's really hopping. I don't recommend sitting at one of the two tables outside, as the sidewalk is quite narrow and passersby might end up spilling your soup, so to speak.

Unfortunately, they don't take dinner reservations of any kind, so unless you're willing to wait in a lineup if you see one, You might want to dine elsewhere that evening. But do keep trying, as it's worth the wait for a meal.

This is an excellent restaurant to meet someone for lunch, as they have many two-person tables and the turnover is fairly quick. I'd be quite surprised if you didn't brownbag some of your meal back home for dinner, as the portions are excellent for most of the items on the menu.

My personal favorite is the Hemingway, which is a pasta dish of surpassing flavor and quite filling all by itself. It also has the bonus of not taking all that long prepare, so it's perfect for a quick lunch meal.

Service is quick and attentive, more so than most places I've been. The staff are extremely good at their jobs and I've never had a problem with my meal that wasn't fixed immediately and to my satisfaction.

In general, this is a great place to have a meal, if you're willing to wait if there's a line.

Chowder was too salty. Ordered Hemingway short story with baked cheese. Paste too firm perhaps under cooked. Over flavour was too much , overloaded. Garlic bread was overloaded. Restaurant was very busy. Service was excellent. Chairs and tables are very crowded. Not recommended.

We visited this restaurant with my wife on Saturday night. My wife invited me for a treat so we wanted to enjoy that night. We decided to come here because we wanted to try good quality food. We based our decision on good reviews. We both ordered Seafood pastas: myself large portion of The Shell Game and my wife small "Sophia".
Staff at the restaurant seems to be attentive and friendly. We were first served water. My glass had some mark on it so I requested another glass without ice. I did not mention this to the server cause close proximity of the guests and did not want to start our dinner with negative vibes.
Upon bringing both our dishes I quickly noticed how reserved ingredients were on both. My pasta had literally 5-6 small scallops few spinach leaves, some prosciutto slices and plain pasta without any sauce.
When server asked us about if everything was okay we both did not complain. Waiter actually asked us leaning over another table (we were sitting at the corner close to the entrance). I felt uncomfortable to inconvenience ourselves, waiter and people sitting just next to us about the quality of feed served here.
Another thing is the size. I ordered large and my wife smaller size. The only size difference I noticed was the plate size.
    62$ thrown in the mud.
We will explore different dining opportunities in the future.
