One of the things biggest things I look for in a coffee house is consistency. A cafe can have the best espresso in the world but it doesn't matter if the baristas can't consistently pull a good espresso shot. This is one of my favourite places to get coffee as they have good coffee and are very consistent. One of my go tos here is their matcha latte, which you can get unsweetened. The food and atmosphere is also very nice. A good hangout spot all around.

Read reviews and I stongly recommend avoiding this place because the owner is a thief. The owner served me cold chili then insists that it was not. Then she insists on serving it again with no spoon. She insisted that I kept the spoon. I gave it back to her with the cold food. I asked for my money back due to poor service, accusatory statements in front of other customers, and very bad food. She said no. She did this all in front of people and turned it all around on me as a customer. And then insists in front of customers that she served me hot food. When I asked to speak to the owner because I wanted my money back, she said that she was the owner and then told me to leave the restaurant. She refused to give my money back and kept it even though I did NOT eat. She refused two times to give my money back and kept my money for food that was NOT edible and that I did NOT eat. This woman needs to be investigated for FRAUD and keeping money that was paid by a debit card that is an international bank. You dont kick people out of your store for asking for their money back. Victoria needs to get this woman out of business for stealing from customers and abusing them. Its called international fraud. What unethical and illgal practices does Victoria have that allows a woman like this to be in business. I hear she also owes her employees money too and has not been paying them minimum wage, but that is just from the other reviews. It's one thing to keep money if I ate there, it's another to kick someone out when they don't even eat the food and are unhappy with the service and the food and DID NOT eat it. I will be reporting this woman to the authorities and to my bank since she used my international debit card. I will never be back, and advise against going there due to unethical and abusive behavior. Worst service in Canada.

This a real, locally owned, quietly ambient hippie coffee place with hearty, wholesome, tasty food, homemade juices, and very funky, cosy, comfy log furniture. So hard to get good non-sugary food with good coffee, but the $7 Shepherd's Pie was a full meal of comfort, that actually tasted interesting. And then I noticed one discrete TV screen carrying Saturday morning soccer game. Love it.

Avoid until you see an 'Under New Management' sign...

If you are able to avoid the times that the female blonde owner is present, then you might enjoy the food, atmosphere and location... otherwise, be prepared for a crazy-making experience( see other 1-star reviews here ).

Example: recently, my girlfriend's small group was rained on by said blonde owner as being 'bad for business' during one of their regular meetings recently, saying they 'should have met upstairs' instead of taking up 2 tables on the main floor.

How can 6 people tucked in a corner quietly discussing things be BAD for business, if they've ALL bought food( and keep doing so )on a quiet afternoon, like they've been doing for MONTHS?

I've been here before, at times when the blonde lady is NOT present, and it's been a nice experience, even with the occasional hiccup. I feel bad for the staff and customers at the mercy of this person, whose actions seem completely off the rails and random. It's a pity, as the decor here is unique, the food is tasty and it's a great location... which is probably all that's keeping the place open, as the owner keeps driving away REGULAR CUSTOMERS simply by opening her mouth.

Awful. I won't be back, and neither will my lady, under the current management, when regular customers get randomly panned for no reason aside from what's going on inside this woman's head...

Stopped in quickly for an espresso boost and it was a great shot! The place itself definitely has that chill, hippie atmosphere especially with the funky driftwood furniture. Can't speak on the food but would definitely recommend the coffee.
